Ordinarily, The Poeming Pigeon doesn’t do reprints, but for their edition “In the News” they decided to break their own rule. I’m pleased because, as specific and timely as this poem (my very first publication!) was when I wrote it, unfortunately the racist, Islamophobic moment for which it was written has not yet passed. Indeed, we seem sometimes to have doubled down on that fear and divisiveness over the last two years.
I’m also glad this poem is finding a second life with The Poeming Pigeon because Forage Poetry, where it first appeared, has since gone offline.
With thanks! Valuable information!
